Áine Whelan has over 25 years of experience in management and program planning, and has held senior positions in government, the corporate sector and academia.
Ms Whelan has a background in the performing arts, holding an honours degree in Music from Trinity College Dublin and an Arts Management Degree from the internationally recognised Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. She has produced and toured a wide range of arts and cultural events in Australia, Europe and Asia.
Ms Whelan has been with the Law Society of Western Australia since July 2012, iniitially as executive manager of professional development before becoming the general manager of programmes in January 2015 and the general manager of marketing, business development and community engagement in January 2021.
She holds an Executive MBA from the University of Western Australia, and is passionate about combining her diverse skills and experience in the arts, education and the professional services sectors to realise ideas and lead best practice.
