Xceed Resources engages in the exploration, evaluation, and development of coal projects in the Republic of South Africa. It holds a 74% interest in the Moabsvelden thermal coal project located in the western portion of the Witbank coal field; a 15% interest in the Roodepoort project covering an area of approximately 1,120 ha located in the Witbank coal field; and a 15% interest in the Bankfontein project covering an area of approximately 913 ha located in the Ermelo coal field of the Republic of South Africa.

The company changed its name from Xceed Capital in March 2011.
