The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute (WABSI), an independent not-for-profit science research broker, works in a joint venture partnership with leading research organisations to help shape the strategic priorities in biodiversity knowledge, to deliver excellence in biodiversity research, and ensure biodiversity information is available to relevant stakeholders.
In early 2013, a steering Group was established to progress the development of The Western Australian Biodiversity Science Institute. WABSI was officially launched in October 2015, with an executive team appointed in May 2016.
WABSI is funded by the WA Government’s Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation.
