CONSTRUCTION companies are eyeing the state government’s record capital works budget as they seek future business opportunities.
The Barnett government’s move to integrate year seven students at the state’s high schools is paying dividends for WA builders, with Emco Building the recent beneficiary of a $10.8 million construction deal from the Department of Education.
Esslemont Cockram has won a $28 million contract to build new facilities at Willetton Senior High School, the largest of six construction contracts for education and training centres awarded recently by the state government.
Universal Constructions and Badge have been awarded contracts by the state government to build three new schools in Perth, worth a combined $36.4 million.
The state government has awarded contracts worth a combined $104.6 million to local builders Broad Construction Services, Pindan and Emco Building.
