In February 2020, GrainCorp completed a demerger of its global malting business with the new business named United Malt.
United Malt Group Limited (UMG) was a commercial maltster globally with 13 processing plants across Canada, the US, Australia and the UK; and approximately 1.25Mtpa of malting capacity. UMG's customers comprised global brewers, craft brewers, distillers and food companies.
United Malt was acquired by Malteries Soufflet in 2023.
