CEOs asked to sleep rough
Preparation for the St Vincent de Paul Society's largest fundraising event - the CEO Sleepout - has kicked off for another year with calls for executives to register.
The St Vincent de Paul Society, or Vinnies, was founded by a 20-year-old student named Frederic Ozanam in the 1830s. Vinnies was established by like-minded individuals who wished to put their faith into action. This compassionate outlook, enthusiasm and vision was embraced in Australia from the 1850s but the society did not officially commence until later.
Vinnies provides a helping hand to many Western Australians through food assistance, material aid, budget advice, shelter, advocacy, friendship and support.
