Resource Recovery Group (formerly Southern Metropolitan Regional Council) is one of five regional councils encompassing 75 square kilometres within Perth’s southern metropolitan area. It is a progressive and innovative regional local government working on behalf of 3 member councils: Town of East Fremantle, City of Fremantle, and the City of Melville.
The group provides services in waste management, environmental management, and regional development.
It changed its name from Southern Metropolitan Regional Council to Resource Recovery Group in 2021 to better reflect its diversifying business and expanding customer base.
