Murujuga Aboriginal Corporation is made up of members from five traditional Aboriginal language groups in the Pilbara. Its mission is to protect its landholdings on the Burrup Peninsula for future generations and support the welfare of its members.
MAC was incorporated in 2006 after claimants received land entitlements and financial benefits in return for surrendering their native title rights over the Burrup. This was documented in the Burrup and Maitland Industrial Estates Agreement. MAC administers the implementation of contractual obligations under the terms of the BMIEA.
