Mrs Mac's was a family-owned food production business best known for its meat pies and sausage rolls. It was acquired by Aus Pie Co, the company behind United Petroleum and Pie Face, in November 2022 who will continue with the Mrs Mac's name.
Originally known as Bakewell Pies, the company was owned and managed by three generations of the Macgregor family, after being started by Ken Macgregor in 1954. Ken handed the business over to his son Iain Macgregor, who ran Mrs Mac’s until his death in 2013. Third generation Rob Macgregor worked alongside Iain for 15 years. Rob and his sister (Kate Macgregor) participated in the business as non-executive board members.
Mrs Mac’s head office and production facility are in Morley, and a 5,000 pallet cold storage facility in Hazelmere. More than 85 per cent of ingredients are sourced in Western Australia, with over $30 million per annum spent on purchases from WA suppliers.
