In 2017 Karalundi's website said the college was undergoing a school restructuring program after declining student numbers, staffing challenges and fiscal restraints challenged the school's viability, which ultimately forced the school to suspend operations in September 2016.
The Karalundi website said there were plans to re-commence from January 2020 for students in years 7 to 10.
