Fogarty Wine Group is a Perth-based, family-owned company of Peter and Lee Fogarty. It has grown to become the largest wine producer in WA and has operations in three other states.
In WA, it owns Millbrook Winery, Perth Hills; Deep Woods Estate, Margaret River; and Smithbrook, Pemberton. It also owns the Evans & Tate brand, contract wine making facility Margaret River Vinters (MRV) and Bunkers Beach House cafe.
In NSW, it owns Lake’s Folly in the Hunter Valley. Fogarty expanded into Tasmania in 2019, acquiring the Lowestoft winery and a 50 per cent interest in Tasmanian Vintners and is planting 200ha of vines at Forcett and Richmond.
In 2020, it acquired Victorian winery Dalwhinnie along with an 80 per cent interest in Sandalford’s Margaret River vineyard at Wilyabrup. In August 2022, it acquired Accolade Wines’ Nannup facility which produces the Houghton and Brookland Valley labels.
In 2019 Brisbane-based agricultural investment manager Laguna Bay invested $60 million in January into MRV. The investment was part of a recapitalisation of east coast wine producer McWilliams Wines, which formerly owned 30 per cent of MRV. Laguna subsequently became an almost 40% shareholder in Fogarty Family Wines, at the same time as Mark Nelson from global investment management firm Caledonia also took a small stake.
