Essential Metals (ESS, formerly Pioneer Resources) engages in the exploration and development of mineral properties primarily in Western Australia. It principally explores for gold and nickel ores, as well as for copper and iron ores.
The company’s primary projects include:
- the Golden Ridge Gold and Nickel project which covers an area of approximately 120sqm and is located to the southeast of Kalgoorlie
- the Gindalbie Gold project that comprises approximately 460sqm of tenements in Kalgoorlie-Boulder
- the Juglah Dome Gold project which covers approximately 160sqm of tenements and is situated to the southeast of Kalgoorlie
- the Fairwater Nickel and Gold project located in the Albany-Fraser Orogenic zone.
The company was initially known as Pioneer Nickel. It changed its name to Pioneer Resources in July 2009, and then to Essential Metals in July 2020.
