Collier Homes was originally the Western Australian subsidiary of South Australian residential building group Home Australia. In October 2016 McGrathNicol were appointed liquidators of the group. According to the liquidators all construction in progress was ceased, which they said included 29 homes under construction by Collier Homes.
In November 2016 Perth businessman and second-generation builder Dario Amara bought the business from the liquidators, retaining the existing business name. Collier Homes was understood to have been running profitably at the time of Home Australia Group's collapse.
