After 3 years of laboratory research and development, Banks and Bloom Distillery + Lab was launched in late 2022 by a team of passionate biochemists, winemakers and hospitality professionals who came together to explore the concept of drinkable botany and using science to focus on flavoursome and interesting adult drinks.
Its founders aim to champion native Australian ingredients underutilised in the beverage space. All native ingredients are responsibly sourced from growers in remote and regional communities, and processed by the company's in-house scientists.
In 2022, Banks and Bloom’s Ice Vodka won silver at the International Wine and Spirits Competition and bronze at both the Taste Australia Spirit Awards and Perth Royal Show Spirit Awards. Its gin won a gold medal at the Taste Australia Spirit Awards, and a silver medal at the Perth Royal Show Spirit Awards. In 2023, its Ice Vodka was awarded double gold at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
