UK-based contractor Laing O’Rourke has won two infrastructure projects collectively worth more than $600 million – a major upgrade to Great Eastern Highway and replacement of the Fremantle traffic bridge.

A consortium that includes Perth business Georgiou Group is first in line to build a $165 million train station at Midland, while the company also won a $115 million NSW road contract.

The extent of the cost increase on the Midland Station project has been revealed, with the project value having almost doubled from $165 million to $315 million.
