Jo-Anne has been a lecturer in Accounting for over 25 years, firstly at Curtin University before joining Murdoch University. Jo-Anne has been Academic Chair of the Master of Professional Accounting since 2010 and has helped to develop the program and implement changes to reflect changing accounting practice. Prior to joining academia, Jo-Anne worked in the accounting industry with roles in Tax Accounting and Management Accounting both in Australia and the U.K.
Jo-Anne is in the final stages of her PhD where she is exploring accounting graduates’ work readiness. Through her research she has identified the sorts of learning experiences that will better prepare graduates for the modern workplace and is keen to some of these learning initiatives into the Accounting curriculum to improve graduate employability outcomes.
