Austereo has continued its reign atop Perth's radio station landscape with Mix 94.5 and stablemate 92.9 taking out first and second positions for overall listeners across each weekday, according to the latest ratings survey.
Despite losing more than half a ratings point Mix 94.5 garnered 15.9 per cent of the overall audience while 92.9 added 0.2 to reach 12.6 per cent of listeners.
The survey result, the second for the year, was the 83rd consecutive top place finish for Mix.
Fairfax's 96FM (up 1.5 points to 11.7), ABC 720 (down 0.4 to 11.3) and DMG Radio's Nova 93.7 (up 1.0 to 10.1) rounded out the top five.
The premier breakfast slot remained largely unchanged and was again taken out by Eoin Cameron on ABC 720 albeit with a reduced rating of 15.7 (down 1.7 on the previous survey).
Botica's Bunch on Mix 94.5 came in second again with 15.4 per cent of the audience.
And 92.9 (with Sam Mac, Lisa Fernandes and Basil Zempilas) gained what Mix 94.5 lost (0.6 points) to finish in third place with 11.5 per cent of the breakfast listening audience.
Nathan, Nat and Shaun McManus on Nova 93.7 managed to secure fourth position thanks to a gain of 2.2 points elevating their rating to 10.6, leaving 96FM's Crew (Gary Shannon, Brad Fitzgerald and Melissa Preston) to round out the top five on 9.7 after losing half a point.
Last month's survey saw 96FM finish in fourth with Nova 93.7 tied in fifth with Millsy and Tony Mac from Radio 6PR for breakfast but the talkback station slipped by 0.7 points to 7.7 per cent finishing in sixth position on the latest survey.
Across the morning and afternoon slots (9am - 12noon & 12noon - 4pm) 96FM made strong gains of 2.3 and 2.7 points respectively.
However the growth could not put a dent in Mix 94.5's dominance across the day time programming reaching 16.7 per cent of the audience during mornings and 18 per cent during the afternoon.
Geoff Hutchison's (ABC 720) and Simon Beaumont's (6PR) news/talkback programs gained 0.1 and 0.6 points respectively. Although only slight it was enough to push the ABC morning show up from fifth last survey to third this time round (with 10.4 per cent of the audience) while 6PR remained in seventh.
