APT Systems has developed what it is calling a “small business antidote to the tech-wreck”.
The privately owned company, a project management tool dev-eloper and distributor, is offering a step-by-step guide – the APT Systems ePlanner – to e-commerce for small to medium enterprises
APT described ePlanner as a self-paced workshop and consultancy tool, including a handbook and a workbook, that is designed so small business owner-managers can complete comprehensive practical exercises and checklists to guide them towards more effective use of e-commerce.
After three or four hours of such work, managers should have a reasonably clear idea about their enterprise’s e-business readiness.
E-commerce applications include electronic banking, placing and receiving orders on-line, instant on-line transactions, better customer relationship management and greater communication through email.
APT said ePlanner would help businesses decide which of these was important to it and when implementation should take place.
APT Systems business development manager Trevor Dudley said that, despite the dot.com meltdown, e-commerce was here to stay and was arguably now more important than ever, even in a toughening global economy.
He said the APT Systems ePlanner was a practical education and strategic planning tool for small business to evaluate how best to capitalise on the considerable cost savings and efficiencies offered through e-commerce.
“Lessons learned from the tech wreck show that e-business success is based on knowledge, planned processes and professional execution,” Mr Dudley said.
“In tighter economic times it is even more important for small businesses to reign in costs through the efficiencies of e-commerce.”
APT Systems is expanding its network of ePlanner distributors and distribution points.
