Management change imminent at Graynic

A major boardroom shakeup is believed to be imminent at Subiaco-based laterite nickel explorer Graynic Metals.

Managing director Bronwyn Barnes is understood to have resigned this afternoon, and is expected to be succeeded by former Anaconda Nickel geologist Adrian Byass, who was also a founding executive director of unsuccessful gold miner Siberia Mining.

Graynic has achieved significant progress this year, as Ms Barnes led a concerted push into nickel rich Central America. Last month the company finalised a key joint venture deal with Canadian group Nichromet to earn a controlling stake in more than 2200 square kilometres of highly prospective nickel holdings in Guatemala.

In a statement released to the Australian Securities Exchange late today, Graynic confirmed Ms Barnes' resignation and the appointment of Mr Byass, who is also a director of Ironbark Gold and Wolf Minerals.

The company said executive director Mark Fletcher had also resigned.
