Aviva appoints Iannello to board ENERGY company Aviva Corporation Ltd has appointed Tony Iannello as non-executive director. Mr Iannello currently holds a number of board positions, including director of ASX-listed SP Austnet Stapled Group of Companies and HBF Group, and chairman of the Kailis Group. Mr Iannello was managing director and CEO of Western Power until April 2006 Kiernan, Simpson quit board CHAIRMAN Micheal Kiernan (pictured) and non-executive director Andrew Simpson have resigned from the board of Windimurra Vanadium Ltd. Both claimed that the decision was due to increasing work commitments. Mathews to head department JENNY Mathews has been appointed director general of the Department of Local Government and Regional Development. Ms Mathews is currently the state manager of the Australian Trade Commission, a position she has held since January 2003. Prior to this, Ms Mathews was a legal consultant with Freehills in Perth. From 1997-2002, Ms Mathews was the director at the Western Australian state office of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Birchmore appointed at UMC ALAN Birchmore has been re-appointed to the board of United Minerals Corporation NL as an independent nonexecutive director. Mr Birchmore has occupied senior board positions with a number of Australian listed companies, including St Barbara Mines Ltd and Mermaid Marine Australia Ltd. HHG family law moves Heather Nichols and Loretta Caré have been appointed to the family law team at the HHG Legal Group as family law counsel and senior solicitor respectively.
