Innerspace has been a trusted name in the architecture and design community for over 70 years. Starting out in antique reproduction furniture, Innerspace grew to become a high-quality furniture company specialising in well-designed products for residential and commercial environments.
In response to the changing landscape of the Australian furniture industry, Innerspace has launched a new look to better reflect the company’s evolving role.
The new branding emphasises the two sides of Innerspace. The bold ‘Inner’ represents the company’s timeless foundation, and the minimal ‘space’ shows the areas in between and the possibilities to explore.
This rebrand is not the first time in its history that Innerspace has responded to emerging trends. Founded in Western Australia as “W.H. and R. Hawkins Furniture Manufacturers” in 1950, the company soon became “Modern Furnishings” to better represent the new styles of the time. Fast forward to 1991, and the synergy of an entrepreneurial spirit with an expanding market created “Innerspace”.
In response to the disruption caused by the global pandemic, Innerspace has once again reacted to suit the transforming spaces around us. Through discussions with staff, designers, and end-users, Innerspace sought to re-define the perception of their brand. The result was clear, Innerspace is more than just a furniture supplier, they are in the people business.
Innerspace reminds us that the most important feature of every product is the people behind it. This guiding philosophy is supported by a knowledge and expertise in furniture solutions that create environments, experiences, and an enjoyment which can improve health and wellbeing.
Innerspace’s core beliefs are still crucial as they seek to collaborate and create. This passion for innovation has established Innerspace as the supplier of choice for free thinkers, expressive creatives and innovative clients alike.
From its humble beginnings to its acclaimed presence today in the Australian furniture community, Innerspace is a company that is on the move. While they may look a little different now, we should rest assured they have not forgotten how they got here.
