Macnamara to be acting CBH boss

CBH Group has appointed its chief operating officer Ben Macnamara as acting chief executive after the resignation of Jimmy Wilson earlier this month.

Mr Macnamara joined CBH in 2014, serving as commercial and business development manager and then general manager planning strategy and development.

In February 2019, he was appointed chief operations officer, responsible for leading storage and handling, logistics, maintenance and shipping services.

Prior to joining CBH he worked at Gresham Advisory Partners and PwC.

CBH Group chair Simon Stead said Mr Macnamara had demonstrated a strong commitment to the cooperative and the grain growers and is a highly capable leader with significant experience.

“With Jimmy having set up the right organisational structure at CBH, Ben will continue to consolidate and build on the strategic direction of the co-operative which the Board and Jimmy have implemented over the past near four years. 

“This includes continuing to focus on the core of the business, pursue better safety outcomes, engage and develop our people, and invest in the network for the benefit of our growers and customers.”

Mr Macnamara said he looked forward to leading the group as it continued to invest in the network and ensure the supply chain ran as efficiently as possible.

Mick Daw will be acting chief operations officer. He is CBH’s Esperance zone general manager, a role which he has worked in for 17 years.

Mr Macnamara will begin his new role on July 1.
