Lindy Jenkins has been appointed to the Law Reform Commission of Western Australia as chair, replacing David Cox. Ms Jenkins recently retired as a judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia. She joins current members Sarah Murray and Kirsten Chivers to form the first all-female commission since its inception in the 1970s.
Scott McConn has joined Peter Hunt Architect in the newly created role of chief executive officer. A qualified architect who has worked in the profession for 35 years, Mr McConn previously held positions at PACT Construction, Cockram Construction Australia and Icon. He has experience in design and construction, as well as executive and leadership roles.
Mining products and services provider Schlam has appointed Matt Thomas as chief executive and Ron Kurniadi as chief financial officer. Mr Thomas has held similar positions at Coffey International, ASCO Group and HiSeis. Mr Kurniadi has previously worked for Clough, AGC and UGL in Australia and South-East Asia. Chief executive and founder Ryan Schlam will become executive director.
Mates in Construction WA acting chief executive Liam Cubbage has been appointed chief executive, starting October 20. Mr Cubbage has worked for the organisation for the past six years in postvention support and case management. His previous experience is in the not-for-profit and community services sectors in leadership roles in suicide prevention and postvention, family support services, drug and alcohol support and community development.
Madeleine Brown is joining Pragma Lawyers as a senior associate. A specialist employment lawyer, Ms Brown has experience with negotiating exits, award and agreement interpretation, investigations, misconduct and termination, restraints of trade and dismissal disputes. She previously worked at MDC Legal and has also served as a legal adviser for the Australian Hotels Association WA.
Murray Hills has been appointed PMM Group’s executive chair. Mr Hills stepped down as managing director of Sentry Group, the Perth-based financial consultancy he founded, in June. Prior to founding Sentry, he was the managing director at DKN Financial Group and has previously been president of the Association of Financial Advisers.
Panetta McGrath Lawyers has welcomed Sean Foy to its employment and workplace relations team as a solicitor. Mr Foy recently completed his law degree at the University of Notre Dame, after working as an industrial relations consultant for 25 years. He worked at companies including Integrated Managed Services and Fluor, advising clients across industries including construction, mining, oil and gas.
Potash company Danakali has appointed Rod McEachern as chief operating officer. Prior to his appointment, Dr McEachern held senior management roles at Nutrien, Saskatoon and PotashCorp. In his new role, he will be responsible for the design and set up of the operation readiness including safe and sustainable mining and processing operations for Colluli Mining Share Company.
BNK Group has made Andrew Kitchen chief financial officer. Prior to his appointment, Mr Kitchen worked as group financial controller at Westpac for several years, before most recently serving as chief financial officer at fintech startup Hay. At BNK Group, Mr Kitchen will be responsible for the financial decisions of BNK Bank, Better Choice Home Loans and Finsure.
