Sophie Davison will be acting as Western Australia’s first chief medical officer, mental health for the next six months. Dr Davison is the deputy chief psychiatrist in the state and has been leading the clinical mental health response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The role sits within the Mental Health Commission and is intended to strengthen its leadership role in the sector.
Hall Chadwick WA has made Michael Hillgrove a partner. In his 40-year audit career, Mr Hillgrove has worked as partner, local audit service line leader and most recently Perth office chair at Grant Thornton, worked for the Office of the Auditor General in Western Australia and began his career at Coopers & Lybrand, which is now PwC.
Katt Osborne has been made permanent executive director of The Blue Room Theatre, after acting in the role since April when Julian Hobba resigned. Ms Osborne was previously a board member at The Blue Room Theatre and has been associated with the organisation as an artist and a staff member for more than a decade.
Hayley Cormann has been appointed to the Perth Children's Hospital Foundation board. Ms Cormann is a practicing barrister and a member of Quayside Chambers. She was previously a senior associate at Clayton Utz and president of the Law Society.
Nik Killis is joining Hassell as head of clients and future business. Mr Killis is returning to the company after a nine year hiatus when he worked at engineering firm Arup, most recently as digital advisory and regional client leader for Australasia. He has previously worked for companies including KPMG, Tetra Tech and Air Liquide.
Alex Ogg has resigned from his position as chief executive of the Western Australian Fishing Industry Council Inc. Mr Ogg became chief operating officer in 2014 and chief executive in 2019. Prior to joining WAFIC, he worked for more than 15 years in the pearling sector including eight years as managing director of Broome-based Autore Pearling and its subsidiary Clipper Pearls.
Bradley Farrell has been appointed to lead professional services company Turner & Townsend's progam advisory services in the infrastructure and natural resources sectors across the Australian and New Zealand region. Mr Farrell previously worked at EY for nearly two decades, most recently leading its program management advisory business.
Former Labor politician Gary Gray has been appointed Australia’s ambassador to Ireland. Mr Gray has recently been the general manager, external affairs at Mineral Resources, a board member of the Australian Submarine Corporation and a trustee of Telethon. He was elected to the House of Representatives for Brand in 2007 and retired in 2016.
Accounting firm HLB Mann Judd has appointed Rowan Tracey to partner within the business advisory services division. After joining the firm as an undergraduate fifteen years ago, Mr Tracey qualified as a chartered accountant in 2008 and was promoted to director in 2018. He has gained experience working in different sectors, including the building and construction industries.
Patrick Chang is joining Blackstone Minerals as corporate development officer. Mr Chang was previously corporate development officer with ASX-listed gold producer Medusa Mining for two years, and at Argonaut and Canaccord Genuity as a resources analyst, specialising in the precious metals and nickel sectors.
ASX-listed Swift Media has hired Geoffrey Greenberg as chief financial officer. Mr Greenberg is a chartered management accountant with more than 20 years’ experience in retail, media, consumer goods and corporate finance. Prior to this appointment, Mr Greenberg worked as chief financial officer at optical retailer George and Matilda Eyecare and was director of commercial finance at oOh! Media.
Accounting firm Trove Advisory Group has promoted Luke Harris as director and Trinh Phan as client manager. Mr Harris joined the company in 2017 as senior manager from Indian Ocean Advisory Group. Ms Phan began her career in banking and finance and moved into public accounting in 2005.
