Adelaide-based MGM Wireless has received a $3.5 million contract renewal with the Department of Education while Datacom Systems has secured a $3.1 million contract with the Department of Transport.
Established in 2001, Adelaide-based MGM Wireless specialises in software for school communication and student absence management, as well as smartphone and watch wearable devices for children.
Under the contract, all WA government schools will have access to the entire suite of MGM’s communication software, apps and services.
The contract is for an initial two-year term, with options to extend by a further two years.
It replaces a previous and similar contract the ASX-listed company has had with the department since 2014.
MGM chief executive Mark Fortunatow said the company’s systems were renowned for their data security, quality and robustness.
“Our latest versions incorporate advanced artificial intelligence functionality that is particularly effective in engaging parents and delivering significant productivity savings to school staff,” he said.
“From a student safety perspective, student absence and emergency messaging are such important, mission critical systems, as we’ve all witnessed with the recent bushfires and now with the coronavirus threat.”
MGM beat two other submissions for the works.
Its shares were down 2.78 per cent at 12:45pm AEDT to trade at 18 cents per share.
Meanwhile, Datacom Systems will provide site network connectivity across WA, under the state government’s GovNext-ICT program.
The program will replace the network connectivity services at 32 Department of Transport sites across the state from self-managed network services to GovNext managed services.
Datacom beat two other submissions for the works, which are due to complete by the end of September 2023, with options to extend by a further two years.
