Jenkins, Weatherill and Dixon to new roles

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA, Minderoo Foundation and Fenix Resources made several senior appointments over the holiday break.

The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA has announced the election of Nicolle Jenkins as president and Marcus Stafford as vice president. Ms Jenkins was previously vice president and has been a member of the general council since 2012. She works as the managing director and founder of The Hub Marketing Communications. Mr Stafford is the chief executive at MSWA.

Former South Australian Premier Jay Weatherill has joined Minderoo Foundation as the chief executive of the Thrive by Five initiative. Mr Weatherill led the Labor state government from October 2011 to March 2018 and was previously responsible for the South Australian government’s Early Childhood Development portfolio. Prior to entering politics in 2002, he was a practicing lawyer at his own firm.

Garret Dixon was appointed non-executive chair at Fenix Resources, effective January 1. Until recently, Mr Dixon worked as executive vice president Alcoa and president bauxite and has previously held roles with the federal government, contract mining group Henry Walter Eltin and rail freight operator Aurizon. Mr Dixon replaces Bevan Tarratt who resigned from his roles as non-executive director and chairman.
