Roshana Group buys Wheatbelt residential care facility

Aged care and mental health service provider Roshana Group of Companies will be assuming ownership and management of the Whealtbelt's Dryandra Residential Care from late February next year, pending approval from the Department of Health.

Roshana is taking over from Dryandra Residential and Community Care and Baptistcare, which has been managing the 47-room facility on behalf of DRCC since 2015.

DRCC chair Raymond Griffiths said Baptistcare chose not to continue to manage the property once the management agreement ended in February 2020.

Given the DRCC was managed by a group of volunteers amid an increasing complexity aged care industry, Mr Griffiths said selling was the best option. 

"The best opportunity to ensure the long-term viability of the aged care service provided here was to sell the property," he said. 

Mr Griffiths said Roshana Group became involved because it has purchased properties from Baptistcare previously. 

Roshana Group chief executive Rosh Jalagge said the individual needs of residents and the ongoing wellbeing of both employees and residents was a priority, promising a high-quality service.

“We will consult with residents, families and employees to ensure everyone is confident, well informed and comfortable throughout the process,” he said.

Baptistcare chief executive Russell Bricknell said it would be essentially business as usual for the facility.

“Residents rights are protected and their security of tenure is assured,” he said.

"All permanent employees at the facility will be offered employment with Roshana Group to ensure residents continue to be supported by highly skilled and caring staff."

Founded in 2001, Roshana Group manages a psychiatric care facility in Midland, four aged care facilities, three psychiatric residential care facilities, a retirement living village and psychiatric independent living programs.
