Venus Metals and Rox Resources have extended high-grade gold mineralisation at the Currans Find North prospect near Youanmi, WA, with drilling returning a top intersection of 1 metre grading 57.2 grams per tonne gold from 110m down-hole.
This top result from the Stage 2 reverse circulation drilling campaign at the prospect within their Currans Find JV project, is contained within a broader intercept of 3m @ 25g/t gold from 109m down-hole.
Another notable intersection from this campaign is 8m @ 7.8g/t gold from 112m including 4m @ 12.6g/t gold.
Management said the results extend high‐grade gold mineralisation at depth and demonstrate the potential for the discovery of “blind” high‐grade gold lodes along strike and down‐plunge from the known occurrences.
Earlier drilling had returned top results of a metre grading 72.7g/t gold from 39 metres down-hole, located within a wider zone of 3m @ 27.5g/t gold and 2m @ 13.3g/t gold from 61m down-hole including 1m @ 25.4g/t gold.
Venus and Rox have also identified a gold and sulphide association at Currans Find North after accessory lead sulphide, as the mineral galena, was identified associated with the high-grade gold intersections.
A similar mineral association is recognised at Spectrum Metals’ nearby Penny North discovery.
The two companies will start follow-up drilling next week while an induced polarisation geophysical survey will also commence shortly to help identify if further sulphide‐rich gold lodes exist at depth, adjacent to Currans Find North.
Additionally, a 5,000m aircore drilling program will start this week to test a combined magnetic, electromagnetic and geochemical anomaly located north of Spectrum Metals’ Penny North deposit.
Spectrum recently returned a high-grade intercept of 5m @ 24.4g/t gold from 241m down-hole that included 3m @ 40.2g/t gold from the same depth from its Phase II drilling program at Penny North.
The Currans Find JV agreement covers a historical, three square kilometre mining lease that produced just over 6,000 tons grading nearly half an ounce to the ton gold in the early 1900s.
Venus and Rox had jointly acquired a combined 90% interest in the project from Murchison Earthmoving & Rehabilitation in April this year.
This is shared equally between the two companies with Venus managing the JV.
