Perth-headquartered electronic outdoor media company Lumacom Ltd has entered into a heads of agreement to purchase Hong Kong-based outdoor media services group Vertigo China Ltd.
Vertigo provides a range of outdoor advertising media products including; the design, fabrication and installation of large format signage, light boxes and neon and LED lighting signage.
It also provides similar services in modular street furniture, transit furniture and mall media structures.
Vertigo has completed some major projects such as the Financial Times Wrap of the Two IFC Towers in Hong Kong, which is the largest sign in the world.
The shareholders of Vertigo have extensive experience in outdoor advertising and construction, and they will come with the business and sign service agreements with the Lumacom subsidiary established to buy the business.
Vertigo has a broad global network including Hong Kong, China, Middle East, Australia and the United States. A particular attraction of Vertigo is its foot hold in the burgeoning Chinese outdoor market.
The opportunity addresses issues Lumacom has been dealing with for some time of not being able to gain an effective foothold in the Asian market, and not being able to build a sustainable business based on one product.
Vertigo has synergy in both these areas and by using this foundation, Lumacom will be able to integrate its existing LumaPanel products with Vertigo's product offerings.
