Programmed has announced Chris Sutherland will retire as managing director in September, to be succeeded in the role by Glenn Thompson.
Mr Sutherland's departure will bring to an end his 12-year career with the formerly ASX-listed company; he joined Programmed in January 2008 and oversaw an increase in sales from $800 million to $2.5 billion as well as an increase of staff from 12,000 to 25,000 during his tenure.
Mr Thompson has held various senior executive positions with the company since joining in 2012, serving as chief executive of Programmed’s maintenance division and property services business unit.
He will be primarily based in Melbourne for this role.
In a statement, Mr Sutherland said it had been a privilege to serve with Programmed and that he was proud to have played a part in the company’s development.
“Together we have built a leading provider of operations and maintenance services across Australia and New Zealand, servicing thousands of customers,” he said.
Founded in Burswood in 1951, Programmed was de-listed from the ASX on 20 October 2017 after being acquired by Japan-based Persol Holdings.
Previously, Mr Sutherland had served as chief executive of Integrated Group, which merged with Programmed in 2007.
