Aurecon wins $8.5m Bellevue contract

Aurecon has been awarded $8.5 million of detailed design works by the Public Transport Authority of WA for the proposed Bellevue railcar depot, as part of the $165 million Midland line extension project.

The Melbourne-based contractor will work on behalf of the Metronet railcar procurement project director in order to develop the Bellevue site plan from feasibility through to ‘issued for construction’ drawings.

Under the scope of the works, which will be for a maximum of four years, Aurecon will be responsible for the preparation of the technical specifications, detailed design and bill of quantities necessary for construction.

It will also obtain and provide P90 estimates for the works.

In addition, it will support the Public Transport Authority and its chosen contractor through construction of the facilities.

Aurecon beat out three other submissions to secure the tender.

The contract is part of the state government’s planned $165 million upgrade of the Midland line.

Midland Station, including its bus interchange and parking facilities, will be relocated to Cale Street, about 500 metres east of its current location.

In addition, the Midland line will be extended to a new station at Bellevue, two kilometres from the relocated Midland Station.
