ASX listed gold developer Calidus Resources has generated some significant high grade gold intersections from drilling at the St George Shear and Klondyke East prospects, within its Warrawoona gold project near Marble Bar in the eastern Pilbara region of WA.
Infill drilling for open pit resource definition at the St George Shear turned up numerous shallow high grade intercepts just 150m north of the main Klondyke mineral resource, which holds 654,000 ounces grading 2.06g/t gold.
Better results included 6 metres grading 7.61 grams per tonne from 16m down-hole, including 1m @ 40.64g/t gold and 8m @ 5.64g/t gold from 44m down-hole, which included separate metre intervals of 11.03g/t, 13.05g/t and 10.95g/t gold.
Another wide intersection returned 14m @ 1.77g/t gold from 35m down-hole.
All these new results will be incorporated into an update of the Warrawoona gold project mineral resources, expected in the first quarter of 2019.
At the Klondyke East prospect, up to 2km further east of the main Klondyke resource, new drill results show narrow intervals of high grade gold mineralisation.
Significant intercepts included 2m @ 20.84g/t gold from 88m down-hole, 6m @ 3.82g/t gold from 93m down-hole and 15 metres at nearly a gram to the tonne from 97m down-hole in separate drill holes.
Other results returned were 2m @ 7.29g/t gold from 66m down-hole and a metre grading 10.79g/t gold from only 2m down-hole in different drill holes.
Calidus Managing Director Dave Reeves said: “The ongoing multi-target drilling programmes at the Warrawoona gold project continue to be very successful … clearly showing that the project has considerable upside.”

The company also plans to commence a soil geochemical sampling program across its Warrawoona tenements in the coming week that is aimed at extending a number of regional gold-in-soil anomalies previously identified.
