Perth-based HarvestRoad Ltd's HarvestRoad Hive has been chosen by APS IT-diensten, a partner of the Dutch Education New Program Matrix project, to manage teaching materials for primary, secondary and vocational education in Holland in a trial project involving 100 pilot schools.
The eLearning technology company has also announced it has been awarded the coveted IBM "Top Star" award for its learning object repository eLearning solution, HarvestRoad Hive.
Last week, HarvestRoad was offered $1.4 million under the AusIndustry Commercial Ready Grant program to support the development and commercialisation of its digital publishing system for electronic performance systems support for the defence and aerospace industries.
At market close, shares in HarvestRoad were at 15.5 cents.

HarvestRoad Hive chosen to manage digital learning programs in Netherlands K-20 education
eLearning technology company HarvestRoad (ASX:HRD) today announced its digital object repository solution, HarvestRoad Hive® has beenchosen by APS IT-diensten ("APS"), a partner of the Dutch Education New ProgramMatrix ("NPM") project, to manage teaching materials for primary, secondary andvocational education in Holland in a trial project involving 100 pilot schools.
The NPM project collaborates with Dutch organizations to develop a single uniform means of searching teaching materials for the country's 5 million students. APS will focus on collecting and storing electronic learning materials whilst other partners will deal with paper materials, CD-ROMs and websites. HarvestRoad Hive® will provide the repository services to store, manage and access the electronic teaching materials. Commenting on the choice of HarvestRoad Hive®, APS IT-diensten Chief Executive
Officer, Nico van Tricht said, "In seeking a suitable solution we knew we would require a unique model from a technical and functional perspective. We conducted extensive research to investigate the most appropriate architecture and solution functionality.
HarvestRoad Hive® was chosen as a result of the outcomes of our research as the best fit to meet the trial project objectives."

The NPM project will be conducted in four phases with the trial project involving 100 pilot schools in primary education to be completed by August 2007.
