Monadelphous secures major Inpex contract

Engineering company Monadelphous Group has been awarded a contract to provide offshore maintenance services to the Ichthys LNG project by oil and gas company INPEX.

The contract is for an initial period of six years with an option for a further two-year extension, with operations located in the Browse Basin, approximately 450 kilometres offshore from Broome.

Monadelphous will deliver maintenance services to the Ichthys project’s central processing facility, known as Ichthys Explorer, and its floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) facility, known as Ichthys Venturer.

Inpex announced last month that, following the arrival of the Explorer and Venturer at the Ichthys site, production of LNG and LPG was expected to begin by the end of March 2018.

“We are delighted to be awarded such a significant maintenance contract by Inpex Operations Australia for the world-class Ichthys LNG project,” Monadelphous managing director Rob Velletri said.

“The contract continues to strengthen our position as a major service provider of offshore maintenance services.

“We look forward to further strengthening our relationship with Inpex Operations Australia and working together to create sustainable economic and social development opportunities for local people, businesses and communities.”

Monadelphous’s share price was up 17 cents to $12.42 today.
