Perth’s biggest town planning firm has just gotten bigger, merging with placemaking consultancy Place Match.
TPG Town Planning Urban Design and Heritage announced the merger today, with the new entity, TPG-Place Match, to have 48 staff.
TPG is already the top-ranked firm on the BNiQ Town Planners list, with 30 full-time town planners on its staff.
TPG Australia managing director Tony Paduano said the firms had worked together on several projects in Western Australia, including the revitalisation of the Perth Cultural Centre, Curtin University’s placemaking efforts, and regional enhancement projects in Bunbury, Morawa and Esperance.
Mr Paduano said the merger would result in Australia’s only agency to offer placemaking principles as part of its planning and urban design service offering.
“It’s an exciting time,” he said. “The business culture at TPG Australia has always been one of embracing change and not being afraid to explore business and growth opportunities that add real value to our clients.”
Place Match founders Carla Chatzopoulos and Lisa Montgomery will become placemaking principals at the merged entity.
Other prominent projects in Perth Place Match has been involved in include the redevelopment of Scarborough Beach, Elizabeth Quay and Yagan Square.
Ms Montgomery said the deal would provide a new level of service and innovation for the firm’s clients.
