Perth Airport has made progress towards the development of the first of two hotels planned for the airport, putting out the call for an experienced operator.
The hotel is planned to be located at the Airport Central precinct, located near terminals 1 and 2.
Perth Airport chief executive Brad Geatches said the site was a prime location for a hotel.
He said two development sites had been identified for hotel projects, both of which were between Airport Drive and Horrie Miller Drive.
“We are keen to attract responses from strong-performing hotel operators with demonstrated experience in operating a successful hotel business,” Mr Geatches said.
“Existing experience in an airport environment will be highly regarded in the evaluation and short-listing process.”
He said the airport was ultimately seeking to develop one or more high quality hotels as part of its vision for the future of Perth Airport.
“Additional opportunities may exist at a later date to meet the needs of our customers,” Mr Geatches said.
Perth Airport is in the middle of $1 billion redevelopment, currently focused on consolidating all commercial air services to the Airport Central precinct.
