Heralded streetwear retailer Culture Kings is opening a Perth store, signing a lease to take up space in the Hay Street Mall, in a deal brokered by Colliers International.
Culture Kings will take up a 587 square metre tenancy, previously home to Ally Fashion, at 664 Hay Street.
It will be the fifth Culture Kings store in Australia, with other outlets in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne and the Gold Coast.
Colliers International manager of retail investment services Ben Tana said Culture Kings had signed up to a five-year lease, with an additional five-year option.
Mr Tana said Culture Kings, considered to be Australia's best streetwear store, had been looking to open a Perth shop for the past year.
"Its stores in the eastern states are also a destination for many of the world's top artists, celebrities, DJs and sports stars when they're in Australia, and it provides a really different retail experience with DJs playing live in store and a barber shop incorporated as well," he said.
Mr Tana said he expected Culture Kings to significantly add to the new life and activity in the CBD.
"It also once again demonstrates that the appetite for big-name national and international retailers for getting their teeth into the Perth market is still very much in play," he said.
"The ongoing evolution of CBD retail and the introduction of new brands and operators is great news for both shoppers and for existing retailers, who have the opportunity to reap the benefits as more shoppers return to the city."
Culture Kings will compete with established retailers Hype DC, which has two CBD stores, Foot Locker and Kickz 101 in the streetwear space.
