Leighton Kumagai seeks interim injunction to halt striking

The Leighton Kumagai joint venture is seeking an interim injunction in the Supreme Court to prevent workers striking on the troubled Perth to Mandurah rail line.

Over 400 workers walked off the job this morning at the city project of the rail line with plans to halt construction until Tuesday.

According to reports on ABC 720, the CFMEU members have taken industrial action over the sacking of a worker believed to be instrumental in a previous decision for workers to go home.

Main Roads have warned of disruption to traffic on the Kwinana Freeway over the weekend.
