Decmil awarded Roy Hill contract

Decmil has been awarded a $37.5 million contract for the design and construction of diesel fuel infrastructure at Hancock Prospecting's Roy Hill project in the Pilbara.

The assignment contains the building of a rail fuel yard, mine fuel yard, go-line facility, mine services fuel and rail wet commissioning.

In April this year, Decmil was awarded two contracts worth more than $71 million to design and construct rail and port facilities at Roy Hill, along with associated infrastructure.

The company will start work on site in March of 2014, and anticipates completing the diesel fuel infrastructure project by March 2015.

“Market conditions within the mining and oil and gas sectors remain challenging so we are thrilled to be involved in this project,” Decmil chief executive Scott Criddle said.

“The award of this contract strengthens our position and further demonstrates our expertise within the iron ore sector.”

Shares in Decmil are down 4.5 cents trading at $1.85, as of 9.30am, WST.
