Construction starts at Brookfield Place Tower 2

Global commercial real estate giant Brookfield Office Properties has officially started construction of the second office tower at Brookfield Place.

The 16-level office tower will have 34,000 square metres of office space and is scheduled to be complete by the end of 2015.

Key tenants already signed up include accounting firm Deloitte and law group Corrs Chambers Westgarth.

Brookfield Australia commercial operations chief operating officer, Kurt Wilkinson, said the second tower would complete the Brookfield Place precinct.

“Tower 2 will offer tenants an unrivalled internal environment, along with stunning views across the Swan River and the best commuter connectivity in Perth,” he said.

The tower will be built by Brookfield Multiplex, which will also take up office space in the building.

Premier Colin Barnett was guest of honour at this morning’s groundbreaking ceremony.
