Mining contractor Macmahon Holdings has announced the appointment of Decmil Group chairman Giles Everist as a non-executive director.
In addition to his role at Decmil, Mr Everist is also a non-executive director of engineering firm LogiCamms and not-for-profit group Perth Home Care Services.
His previous roles include chief financial officer at Monadelphous Group, as well as senior roles at Fluor Australia, Hamersley Iron and Rio Tinto London.
Macmahon chairman Ken Scott-Mackenzie said the appointment of Mr Everist was the first step in the company’s plan for board renewal, with non-executive director Barry Ford set to retire later this year.
“Mr Everist has outstanding credentials as a director and a deep understanding of our sector,” Mr Scott-Mackenzie said.
“I am delighted to welcome such a highly qualified person to join the board as we implement our mining focused strategy.”
Macmahon shares were down 8 per cent at 11.5 cents at 10:00AM WST.
