Western Australian companies Zarephath Wines Pty Ltd, Vasse Felix Pty Ltd and Lenton Brae Pty Ltd will exhibit and sample their products to more than 400 guests at the Australian Specialty Foods and Wines Expo to be held in Los Angeles today.
The Expo will showcase over 70 Australian exhibitors who will present more than 200 new food and wine items to food and wine trade contacts, executive chefs from LA restaurants, caterers, distributors and specialty importers. Australian companies secured more than $1 million in commercial food and beverage business deals in the USA from participating in last year's Australia Week activities. The week consists of more than 15 events aimed to reach key decision makers, US buyers and influencers, consumers and potential investors. On Wednesday night the Australian Designer Showcase presented by Hardy Wines was held at the Hollywood Palladium. Austrade senior trade commissioner Kylie Hargreaves said "Australian fashion is now taking LA by storm. From the red carpet to the retail windows, Australian fashion is in demand and Australia Week gives designers a chance to showcase their best to celebrities, stylists and retailers alike in one spot."
Events at the Expo range from contemporary Australian art exhibitions to fashion catwalk displays, film premiers, trade day exhibitions, business seminars, energy security forums, as well as supermarket promotions.
