Internet and communication technology group UXC Connect has won a $4.1 million contract to provide IP surveillance and security solutions for a major West Australian liquefied natural gas project.
The works will include IP closed circuit television, public address, general alarm and access control infrastructure installed throughout the LNG project’s 4,300 room construction camp.
The company, however, did not disclose specifically which LNG project the contract was for.
UXC chief executive Ian Poole said the company was thrilled to secure the deal, which highlights the company’s recent investment in the WA market.
The group opened its Perth office in November.
“(The contract) is further evidence of our successful go-to-market strategy where we continue to invest in the people and partnerships that enable us to create market leading solutions,” Mr Poole said in a statement.
“The growth we have seen in Western Australia and particularly in the mining and oil and gas sectors has meant we have been able to invest extensively in our WA team.
“This has enabled UXC connect to further diversify its offerings and build on the success of our other specialised solutions such as entertainment and content, which has been deployed to over 12,000 accommodation village rooms across Australia.”
At close of trade today UXC shares were down 4.5 per cent, trading at $1.15.
