International design and engineering firm Hyder Consulting has acquired Perth business BCH Engineering Consultants, which has built a sizeable niche in the Pilbara since being established six years ago.
Hyder’s Australasian managing director Greg Steele said the acquisition was a vital step in the group’s growth within the energy and resources sectors.
“The company brings a Western Australian presence and multi-disciplinary capabilities, as well as strong and prosperous relationships with key clients,” Mr Steele said.
“This acquisition and established client base will increase momentum for our progression into the west,” he said.
With 17 staff and offices in Perth, Karratha and Busselton, BCH’s client list includes Woodside, Transfield Worley, Dampier Salt, Pilbara Iron, Mermaid Marine, the Dampier Port Authority, Main Roads and Chemeq.
BCH director Peter Britt said he was excited to be merging with Hyder.
“I believe the key to success will be to maintain the close personal relationships we have developed with our existing clients, and with Hyder’s strong reputation behind us we can confidently offer a more diversified range of services to them,” Mr Britt said.
BCH will in future be known as ‘BCH Hyder’.
Hyder Consulting is an international consultancy with 4,000 staff providing engineering, environmental and planning services to clients in the property, transport, water, energy and resources sectors.
