Downing Teal names new managers
Specialist recruitment consultancy Downing Teal has appointed Tony Taylor as manager – resources and Mark Nicholas as manager – construction and engineering. Mr Taylor was managing director – Asia Pacific of Gerard Daniels for six years before joining Downing Teal early this year as an account director. He is a former KPMG partner and partner-in-charge tax and legal. Mr Nicholas joined Downing Teal as an account director in January 2011. He was previously general manager, business development, Asia Pacific of Coffey International and general manager of Beilby Corporation. Downing Teal specialises in recruitment for the resources, construction and engineering industries.
Jones joins Doric board
Lloyd Jones has been appointed as a non-executive director at privately owned WA construction company Doric. Mr Jones previously worked for Alcoa across senior roles including general manager of WA operations, president of US smelting and president Asia Pacific, the latter based in Tokyo and Beijing. He is a director of the Myer Family Company.
Pereira new URS director
Geoff Pereira has been appointed as Perth-based director of capital projects for engineering construction and environmental services firm URS. Mr Pereira previously held a number of senior management roles at KBR, including as global director for their iron ore business, where he led projects for Rio Tinto’s Hope Downs and Tom Price mines and BHP Billiton’s RGP5 and six projects. At URS, his responsibilities will include work on the company’s Pilbara EPCM joint venture with Lycopodium for Rio Tinto’s Nammuldi and Silvergrass developments.
Netscher joins Bullabulling
Tim Netscher has been appointed to the board of Bullabulling Gold as a non-executive director. Mr Netscher is currently managing director of Gindalbie Metals, and a non-executive director of Industrea. He has previously held senior positions at Newmont Mining, Vale and Impala Platinum. This appointment completes a previously announced strategic review of Bullabulling’s board, which also included the recent appointment of Gryphon Partners senior adviser Ronnie Beevor as a non-executive director. The company is working to bring its Bullabulling gold mine in WA’s goldfields region back to production from 2015.
