Mount Gibson Iron has announced the permanent appointment of Jim Beyer as its chief executive.
Mr Beyer has been acting chief executive since December 2011.
Mount Gibson chairman Geoff Hill said Mr Beyer had made a valuable contribution to the company since joining as chief operating officer in November 2011, particularly with overseeing the start up of operations at the company's Extension Hill iron ore mine.
“We are fortunate to have someone of Jim's calibre and experience to take the management reins of Mount Gibson in this important period.
“Jim's appointment is a critical step in consolidating and building on the company's position as one of Australia's leading independent iron ore producers and miners.
Mr Beyer has previous experience with WMC Resources, at the Olympic Dam operation in South Australia, as well as management roles with Newmont Mining, where he was operations manager for the start-up of the Boddington mine.
