Matilda Zircon has appointed former Murchison Metals boss Trevor Matthews as its new chief executive.
Mr Matthews will take the reins at Matilda from May 14.
Chairman Mal Randall said Mr Matthews had the skills and experience to lead the development of the company’s flagship Keysbrook zircon project.
Mr Matthews was chief executive of Murchison from its listing in 2005 until the $325 million sale of its stake in the Oakajee Port and Rail project earlier this year.
“Trevor brings a wealth of project development and financing experience as well as a proven track record in corporate marketing and strategic development,” Mr Randall said.
“His knowledge will be invaluable to Matilda, as it starts the detailed engineering and design phase of Keysbrook and moves towards the funding and construction phases.”
Mr Randall said Matilda was currently updating a bankable feasibility study for Keysbrook, and will provide advice regarding off-take agreements and price forecasts in coming weeks.
