Cazaly Resources has received environmental approval from the state government for the construction of its Parker Range iron ore project near Southern Cross.
Cazaly said it now had a good understanding of the environmental, social and heritage values of the project area, around 15 kilometres south of Marvel Loch, and would ensure that all conservation and environmental management measures were fully integrated in all phases of the development.
“Cazaly continues to work closely and cooperatively with the Western Australian government and local authorities to seek the best possible combination of road, rail and port solutions to enable the Parker Range iron ore project to be developed as soon as possible,” managing director Clive Jones said.
The resource estimates for the Mount Caudan deposit at Parker Range is currently 35.1 million tonnes of ore at 55.9 per cent Fe.
Cazaly is targeting production of 1.4 million tonnes per annum of iron ore fines in the first year, ramping up to 4.6Mtpa on an initial 8.3 years mine life.
The deposit will be mined using conventional open pit mining, Cazaly said.
At 2:00PM, WST, Cazaly stocks had gained 3.5 per cent, trading at 30 cents.
