Australian-based spatial content company nearmap.com has completed a capture of 5,000 square kilometres of high resolution photo maps over Australia’s economic engine room in WA’s north-west.
The images provide a first look at major development hotspots in the region, including projects at Barrow Island, Karratha, Dampier, Burrup Peninsula, Port Hedland, Roebourne, Cape Lambert and Broome.
nearmap.com CEO Simon Crowther said it’s not until you see the images of the development going on in WA that you really appreciate the scale of it.
“With so many projects currently underway in WA, we’re getting interest from developers and government who want to use our technology to closely monitor and report on their multi-billion dollar projects,” Mr Crowther said.
Owned by Perth-based company ipernica, nearmap.com’s technology captures, processes and serves high resolution aerial imagery in condensed timeframes, enabling the company to update images quickly.
