ONE of Margaret River’s founding wineries, Leeuwin Estate, recently celebrated the twenty-fifth anniversary of its first planting of vines.
In an address to the WA Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Leeuwin founder and chairman Denis Horgan outlined the history of the estate and it achievements.
Mr Horgan said Leeuwin, founded in 1974, had set as its mission statement: “The production of high quality wines that ranked with the best in the world through the pursuit of excellence”.
In recent months Leeuwin has been recognised for its excellence in the form of the National Tourism Wineries Award and the Jaguar Award for Excellence in innovation tourism, Mr Horgan said.
